Thanks Diane for including Rohnert Park in your projections. It makes me feel included in a little more personal way. Canie, thank you ever so much for your efforts, they are very much appreciated. Starzr, I haven't heard any sounds for your area yet, but will post if I do so.

We are having what I believe is that last bit of summery weather before true autumn and winter arrive. We should count our blessings, there are thousands of earthquake victims left homeless of late and this kind of weather for them would be a gift they would enjoy considerably, unfortunately we can't wrap it and send it. I certainly would like to though.

I was writing something the other night about the disaster, after the disaster. The financial consequences of what happens to people who have to rely on the government for assistance after a large earthquake. It makes such a profound effect on their circumstances and the recovery after the disaster is a nightmare at best. As the anniversary of Loma Prieta is due to arrive shortly, though the victims will never be forgotten, there the other victims, the ones who now live in less because of the financial loss, the businesses who never recovered and the emotional scars that for some will never heal. The truth about surviving earthquakes is painful at best.

Recently I started receiving victims stories from survivors of the Good Friday, Alaskan '64 earthquake and something interesting happened in that process. These people were telling me as a result of sharing their stories, the pain they felt for years lifted. Its been a long time since '64, I'm sorry for them no one ever asked them how it felt. Someone suggested to me that perhaps a book of survivors stories might be something I would undertake in the future. I thought about it, but I'm not certain many people would be interested in reading such a piece. However, on another thought, maybe in sharing their stories all of the survivors from various earthquakes might benefit from reading what others endured. Its difficult to know.

Peace & Light.....Pat
