Romino Prediction
Posted by Lowell on August 19, 2001 at 15:05:04:

Having re-read the prediction from Prof. Romino, it appears he intended it to
be made to the EPR rather than our office. Since the EPR is a public repository
of earthquake predictions, their stated rules of access apply rather than our
more restrictive ones. Therefore, here is the complete post we received from
Prof. Romino. The envelop is postmarked 12 July 2001 and was received in this
office from Mitt. Prof. Antonio Romino on July 20, 2001. It reads:

"Salve Dr. Lowell
Being unable to post a message to E.P.R. because my P.C. is out-use, I send you
the following prediction:

Signal received on 2001-06-22 in Venice (Italy)

Magnitude 5.0 +/- 0.5
From: 2001-07-17 To: 2001-07-27
Location: Northern Italy (Reggiano 44.8N 10.3E)
Top Latitude 45.5N - Bottom Latitude 44.5N
Right Longitude 10.5E - Left Longitude 9.5E

The probability that this event will occur is 70%. The other 30% is that this
same event could be occur in Greece or in North-western Italy.

Saluti from Naples
Prof. Antonio Romino
