Being Prepared

Hi All. The glacier outburst is just one of the things Petra and I have been trying to hammer home about being prepared.

It is true that there are people who cry wolf all the time, but how much does it cost to prepare? A lot less then it would if you were caught unaware and have to evacuate after the fact.

It has been said that there should be food and water laid in for at least 3 days. I can tell you right now that is not going to be enough.

We had water for 3 days before the Loma Prieta quake and we were just about out of water by the start of the 3rd day. In the area of food we had more then enough. I will admit that we knew where there was a good source of water, so maybe we didn’t conserve enough of what we had on hand, but that is no reason not to have a supply for at least 5 days.

There are so many little things that can be done before they have to be done. You can start doing it now. A little bit at a time. Take Care…Don in creepy town
