Geological Survey of Canada gives MN 5.8 to QEI Earthquake

The Geological Survey of Canada is giving a local MN magnitude of 5.8
to the earthquake in the Queen Elizabeth Islands region this morning. This
magnitude makes this the largest earthquake ever recorded north of 77N
in Canada and probably the largest ever recorded in the western Hemisphere north of 77N.
This earthquake is within several 100 km of the North Magnetic Pole.
