As the official sponsor of the "What earthquake is next in the sequence"
contest, now that the period has come to an end, I guess I need to declare
a winner.
Since events occurred in all areas predicted by those participating (with
the possible exception of Illinois), it is difficult to pick a winner.
Therefore I declare we are all winners since the contest and predictions
showed that under certain circumstances it IS POSSIBLE to predict
relatively uncommon earthquakes. A secondary outcome was that we
may have seen a precursory phenomena related to the Alaska Mw 6.5
BEFORE that event occurred.
