Correction on location of Kansas earthquake

The following was received via e-mail yesterday. Please note, the statement I made that the earthquake was near Topeka was incorrect. It was near Wichita, Kansas. Your post yesterday titled "Topeka, Kansas earthquake (Ml 3.0)" might confuse Kansans readingthat board. NEIC shows the earthquake as 10 miles SW of El Dorado, Kansas, which is near Wichita, not Topeka. (Your post does say "...this area of southeastern Kansas...") I grew up in central Kansas, then lived in Lawrence for several years before moving to Livermore, CA, in 1960 and never considered Topeka to be in southeastern Kansas. I don't know exact distances, but even on the turnpike, Wichita is a few hours' drive from Topeka.
