Hi Lowell,

Is that near Mt. Manitou, outside of Colorado Springs?

I don't think I'll ever forget the dark red soil there, weird peaks and a thunderstorm of worthiness to respect.

I was driving down the highway and in the middle of it the left windshield wiper flew off. Not good timing. That was the second problem with my rental car. The first one, I got the keys from the rental agent and it was near 10PM and I got to the car and found it wouldn't start because it was out of gas. When I got back inside the Colorado Springs terminal, the rental agent had left for the night.

Of course when I turned the car in and complained about the problems, the airline pilot was waiting on the runway. Upon boarding he said he was glad I could make it.

Despite all of it, Colorado is absolutely breathtakingly beautiful. Lowell, you are so lucky to live there. I think you know it.
