What I've been taught as the answer to 'Do animals have souls?" is that there is One dog soul and One cat soul so to speak (and all the other animal species souls too) - one soul for all our little friends - and its also working on evolving and learning through its many incarnations.

I don't know if that's the answer or not but I have dreamed of my lost pets and can't help but think that if there is an afterlife for us, why not them?
