Twin Sounds Found A Match

Hi All,

Now all of you will be treated to finding out how difficult it is to match sounds with quakes, but identifying which ones sometimes is easier. This is a post I made, though I had the area considerably off and my window expired. But therein lies some interesting words that made this mornings Coso Junction 4.7 quakes a match with these ear tones.....Petra

Triple Junction & Markleville to Mammoth Quakes

Hi All,

Yesterday evening just after 5PM I was treated to another unusual ear tone event. Both of my ears were giving me similiar sounds at the same time and ended at the same duration. I was a little puzzled and then I was talking to Don about it and he mentioned is forecast for off the coast of Oregon. So I went there just now to find it and see if it had any similarity to my expected northern quake. Here's his forecast:

Earthquake Forecast Off Oregon Coast
Posted by Don in Hollister on June 12, 2001 at 13:43:01:
Magnitude: 4.5-6.0
From: 06/30/2001PDT - To: 07/05/2001PDT
Location: 225 miles west of Eugene, Oregon
Lat: 43.4N - Long: 127.7W - Range: 70Km

My ear tones last around 5 seconds so that puts the distance for me at the north coast area, and to the right Markleville to Mammoth. So the ear tones do not support his prediction.

As I can only hear certain magnitudes at given distances, each of these probably quakes would be in the 4.0+ range and should occur either within minutes or hours of each other.

This should be good watching to see what actually shows up. But being that I have a distinct window problem, I'm going with 6/30 to 7/15.

So if his quake is coming, then there remains the possibility if it is higher than a 4.0 I may indeed hear it before it arrives, so I'll let you know if anything happens.

Petra
