Bay Area Dilational Strain

HI All. It appears that the dilational strain at the Coyote data in the Bay Area has, or is returning to normal. So far there hasn’t been any sudden drop that would indicate a release in strain that would result in an earthquake.

I suspect that there are many false indications and many various indications that mean nothing. Whether or not this is one of them I really don’t know. I guess the data is sort of like people. Never really know what they, or it means.

It will be interesting to see what the future holds for the Bay Area. USGS keeps saying a major quake in the next 30 years. The biggest problem I have with this is that they’re a lot of people who view this, as meaning there will not be a major quake in the next 30 years. I suspect there may also be some who have the fatalistic idea that as there is nothing they can do about it so why try and get ready for it. I suspect there are those who can give you many reasons for not preparing for the next major quake, but at the same time can’t give you one for why they should.

I went to the hospital today to finish my tests. I should know in a couple of weeks whether or not there is a major quake in my future. It should be very interesting. Take Care…Don in creepy town
