Hi Lowell. In regards to Middle Mountain this has always been an area of activity.

According to which report you read and which one you want to except this is the location of the 1857 quake. The other area is just south of Parkfield. As to why it was called the Fort Tejon quake was because Fort Tejon was the only principle landmark at that time.

Middle Mountain is the location of the Earthscope project if and when they can get the money needed to start the operation. Contrary to popular believe no water is to be injected into the fault.

The area that has me a little concerned right now is the area just north of Portola Valley. This is the second swarm of quakes they have had there in the last couple of months. This area is at the southern end of the so-called seismic gap. Guess we will just have to wait and see what these quakes lead to. Take Care…Don in creepy
