Hi All,

Oh yeah, being with Don on a trip is enough to make my hair grow an inch on a weekend. Actually today I faired much better than yesterday. Those hilly windy turns do me in everytime. But I've learned how to cope with this situation. I simply lay my seat back and don't look. I try to imagine pleasant things, though its difficult when I sense the car swerving. So I think of how much better it is than a roller coaster ride and then it doesn't seem so bad.

But today was fun, not only did we identify those outcroppings of rock and decided they were Franciscan, but the barnyard friends were also in great number. Horses, cows, donkeys and even some deer feeding in open pastures in broad daylight, which Don so carefully pointed out to me. Mind you, I was checking the building structures at the local Coast Guard Station, but there in front of them were two deer. Lovely.

Ah, Don really isn't as bad a driver as you might think from my carrying on. He doesn't tailgate, as he just nearly runs over anything thats in front of him and he never wears the brakes out because he hardly uses them.

Ah yes, next time before enjoying pastoral pleasure, I'll have the bloody mary at home and the drive will seem absolutely perfect. Why wait for the occasional earthquake for excitement, I can have it several times a month by just taking a ride with, well, how should I put this, one who takes certain liberties on America's freeways.
