Popo's Still Active

Hi All,

Popo had an ash eruption two days ago which brought ash into nearby cities. There was news film and a story about it. Keeping up with the latest on Popo is rather difficult due to the way communications are set up.

After hearing the news story I checked out the daily report and it mentioned that on July 3rd there was an ash eruption, but on July 3rd, there was no report. When viewing the video cam it looked quite gray and I was assuming it was ash, but sometimes it appears to be cloudy, so you can't be sure until a report confirms it.

This morning I saw another spectacular view of the mountain. It was very clear and the volcano had just let off a puff of steam and it was traveling horizontally to the west. Meanwhile the volcano top itself was still releasing steam. Its marvelous to view it when its a clear day.

Considering all of the South American earthquakes of late, I would not be surprised to hear in the near future that it went for the big eruption. This is very hazardous as there are so many people who live very close. If it is very large, Mexico City will experience some serious problems.
