Yep, I remember it. Didn't get my heart going very fast as I was quite a ways away in the San Fernando Valley, but it was the largest magnitude EQ I'd ever felt. I remember waking up to things in the kitchen clanging around in the rolling motion. I spent the the next couple of hours watching news accounts on TV, then finally decided to go back to sleep. Just as I was drifting off, Big Bear happened. So I said screw it, I might as well get up for the day, mother nature has no intention of letting me sleep. I don't recall what day of the week that was, but I didn't have to work that day so I drove out to the Yucca Valley to take a peek around. Found lots of mobile homes slide off their foundations, and a broken bowling alley. Got some pictures around here somewhere......

After experiencing Northridge 1 mile as the crow flies from the epicenter, I'm surprised I remember anything prior to Northridge..... Landers may have been big, but Northridge scared the you know what outta me! I woke up midair that morning .......
