I understand about a total eclipse and the doubling up of gravitational forces (even though some scientists believe the gravitational force of the sun is insignificant re: earthquakes. I believe Jim Berkland holds this view. Please correct me if I am wrong). And I understand about the focal point of annularity, similar to the lens position in the eye.

BUT... I had never considered the interruption in the electromagnetic field. Duh.

If a study were done re: medium to large earthquake triggering in the path of totality/annularity, the interruption in the EMF might tip the scales in favor of post-eclipse seismic events. Hmm.
