Somewhere in the back of my mind, I recalled that the 1700 Cascadia earthquake
was associated in time with a large earthquake in Peru, so I rechecked.
There was a Mw 7.9 (probably around that anyway) on July 14 1699 in
the Lima area (epicenter: 11.8S 77.5W). That is about half a year before
the Cascadia earthquake. The earthquake in Peru occurred about 4 months
after the Olympia earthquake. Probably just coincidence, but someone
posted something about coincidence earlier which should be reread.
