the Institute for Nuclear and Geological Sciences (IGNS) is reporting a Ml 4.7 from the northern portion of the South Island, N.Z. that occurred about an hour ago. The far-field aftershock forecast had this region on a state of seismic alert after the Peru earthquake. It stated: "Earthquake of Mb>5.0 possible): South Island to Southern North Island, New Zealand (Alert status)" This was the only area placed on alert status by the forecast. IGNS operates an on-line seismograph at: http://www.gns.cri.nz/news/earthquakes/latest_drum.html
