Hi Petra:

Thanks for the info.

I've heard that self-published works are easily Id'd since they oftentimes lack word-smithing polishing and presentation obfuscations, etc. Not to say that would apply to you or anything but it seems like the argument has some merit.

Will you employ an editor when self-publishing your work? Also, isn't there some resistance to working with small publishing entities....? It's just a few thoughts....

It appears that you have gone ahead and written a few articles for magazines anyway. It sure looks alot easier than writing a (small) book....

Good point...sometimes one person can make a difference ...especially with help from others.

Just after a lightning storm I got out of my car and decided I was going to move a huge tree which had fallen across the road. The trunk was probably about 12-14 inches thick but it was resting on a crushed guard rail and across the road. Other traffic passed by me in the left lane which was open. People were looking at me like I was crazy. Maybe I was....

My thinking was that if I used my leg muscles at the right angle I could possibly pivot the tree off the road...but...the tree was a monster and no doubt weighed a ton or two. I struggled a little and it started to budge.... I could tell that I would exhaust my leg muscles out way before moving the tree to any big degree. As I was struggling away and about to quit I was unaware that a large van filled with teenage boys and a man had seen me and were piling out of the van to help. They were all happy (church group or boy scouts or something) and without me saying anything they found positions from which to push all around the tree. All I said was: " On three.....three".

That two ton tree moved right off the road in about 30 seconds.... Everybody was happy.... Those guys realized that alone they could only do so much but together not only did they get it done but they realized that teamwork was an absolute requirement for completion of the task.

I'm still learning that aspect....

Anyway, I hope I didn't bore you.... Also the word "lightning" is kinda close to being "on topic"...so I guess I'm OK on that point :)
