Re: for Penny, pyramid shaped peak carved by aliens

Thanks for sending this! Mt Shasta has been fully booked for over a year for the "apocalypse" or "New Age" or whatever. I find it almost mildly amusing that the Goddess of Shasta decided that she didn't want to fool with this and be covered with people seeking enlightenment. SO---for three days we've had major snow, about four feet so far and much more expected. Most of the roads are closed coming into town, including Interstate Five at times. It is white, cold, silent---she likes it that way.

I am silent WITH a cold---had to cancel my party due to this miserable sinus and bronchitis (which half the town has anyway). Most locals are hunkered down (we're used to this, sort of!)with batteries and generators and good books and bottles/smokes of whatever. So far, I've caught up on all soap operas, watched three Nutcracker Ballets, and a lot of Jeanette McDonald/Maurice Chevalier movies from the 1930s...in addition to the continuing Congressional folly.

And Yeah, Brian...people tend to see what they want to see. Actually, there are photos of a perfect pyramid shadow from Shasta which appears at certain times of the year. Right now my "Magic" mountain has shut herself off from most visitors. Except for the Ski Park (if they get the roads plowed) because we need the jobs! About 300 people work there, and it is a major source of income for the area in the winter. Hubby and I go up sometimes to drink beverages and watch people fall down... But I babble. Blame it on my fever!
