Roger and all, it is worse than " unknown and untested method" From what we know of the method, it is really unlikely: Red Flags go up. We know part of it is "eartones". I hear eartones semi regularly and see no connection to quakes. I see why people think they are "real"; some are quite strong and feel like a pressure in addition to a tone. They really seem external, but others in my family who hear them at times NEVER hear them at the same time. I imagine they are internal, but it is perhaps not surprising that many seem to think they are external. EQF also claims "EM" signals but I don't think he gives any information on what these are, and how and where they are measured. I suspect a least part of the time his "EM" signals are eartones. I think he uses Sun/Moon, but as John has posted many times, this has been demonstrated to not have a major effect (statistical significance was shown for small quakes on the spreading center off of Cascadia (Tolstoy)) so, yes, I entirely agree: "In scientific circles, that's viewed as irresponsible behavior which brings discredit to the entire field."
