Just two comments for the moment.

First, thanks for running the board for all these years.

Second,

If another person does take over as administrator of the EarthWaves board then that is one thing. And I think that it is unfortunate that you will be leaving.

However, I do not believe that this person should be given possession of the archives. And it sou8nd like they will include posts up until the end of this year.

The informal agreement that I believe everyone had with you regarding board posts is that YOU would be the moderator and also the person who owns or at least controls the archives. And there is probably some legal precedence regarding that.

What I would recommend is that if someone else is going to run the board on his or her own Internet server then you should retain possession of all of the archives. And they should remain on your own server or simply disappear. And the board can start back at post # 1.

It is important that this matter get settled in a harmonious manner. It is also highly unlikely that I or any other earthquake forecasting researcher will be posting original types of notes to this EarthWaves board after it does change hands.
