Shaver Lake earthquake

Hi All. Just thought you would like to know that the little 1.4Md quake ENE of Shaver Lake is almost at the top of the Sierras.

I use to deer hunt in that area. When we got tired we would go over to the Mono Hot Springs for a bath.

There is a seismograph about 9 miles west of the Mono Hot Springs. It’s located at Kaiser Peak about 100 yards up the hill from Sample Meadows.

Talk about tortured land. Some of the mountains in that area are nothing but granite and they are huge. Kaiser Peak is polka-dotted with lakes that are filled with German Brown Trout. It’s also a wilderness area so the only way your going to get in is walk, or horse back.

The last time I talked to the owner of Mono Hot Springs was about a year ago. He told me then there hadn’t been any change in the temperature of the water coming from the springs. I think in the not to distant future I will call him and see what he has to say now. Take Care…Don in creepy town.
