Earthquake Advisory – Posted by EQF on November 27, 2012

A strong EM Signal was detected at the following time:

2012/11/27 07:30:00 UTC

It will take a while to run that and other data through my computer programs. And I won't be able to point to any probable locations until those data have been processed.

For Time Windows, perhaps 50% of the time the expected earthquake will occur within 5 days of a signal like that. And after that, high probability times are multiples of 7 days from the signal date.

Magnitudes are difficult to estimate with these EM Signals because it appears that the strength of the signal relies heavily on how close to the surface the fault zone is. So, an approaching 5.5 magnitude earthquake near the surface could generate a stronger signal than a 7.5 magnitude earthquake that will be 100 kilometers deep in the ground.

However, if a strong signal is detected like that it usually means that the earthquake will be powerful enough and close enough to the surface that if it occurs near a city it could do some damage.
