The ability of humans to deny possibilities is stunning at times. I remember seeing a special on TV a few years ago about the vulnerability of New York City to a storm exactly like this one. I guess we just don't think it will really ever happen to US. This, of course, from a woman who lives on the slopes of a dormant strato volcano...

Wishing those poor folks in the East well...but maybe a modest wake-up to those who deny that global warming is real? Nah...probably won't change most folks at all.
