Within 6 months the orientation of the earth's tilted axis would have changed from facing the sun to facing away from the sun (at the solstices) or the same orientation (at the equinoxes). So a question in this regard is "which 6 months period" were you actually refering to. ? (Assuming this line of thought had anything to do with what may have been happening....)
