Re: You Want More Jail Sentences And USGS Cuts? – October 26, 2012 |
Roger, You and your colleagues need to actually read what happened before that earthquake. People were told, “You don’t have a thing to worry about. There won’t be an earthquake. Go home and have a nice glass of wine.” Then the earthquake occurred and people died. There was a trial. And the defendants were found guilty of incorrectly misleading the general public. Here. Read the Wikipedia.org report: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2009_L%27Aquila_earthquake I particularly liked the part where that one scientist or government official claimed that he couldn’t understand what he was prosecuted for. He might not have been the person who told people that they could go home and have a nice glass of wine because there wasn’t going to be an earthquake. But, did he then step forward and say anything about that? He could have said in public: “The statement that there won’t be an earthquake is not scientifically justified. So if you are worried that there might be one then perhaps you should try sleeping in a tent for a few days.” As far as I am aware he did not say anything like that to correct that incorrect statement. And I believe that he probably had a responsibility to do that and that he should have said something. And that was partly what he was prosecuted for. I think that it is obvious to many people outside the international geology community that many of the people who are in the international geology community have so brainwashed themselves into believing that “Earthquakes can’t be predicted” and everything else associated with that claim that if that particular person in Italy does go to prison for the next 6 years, then when he is released he Still won’t understand why he was prosecuted. These are personal opinions. Follow Ups: ● Re: You Want More Jail Sentences And USGS Cuts? – October 26, 2012 - Roger Hunter 10:03:04 - 10/26/2012 (80469) (0) |
