Re: Could El Mayor be quickening an Elsinore event?

Agree on San Jacinto's possible affect on Elsinore. Though it doesn't appear that El Mayor increased activity on the San Jacinto. But that doesn't mean the SJ could be nearing failure on it's own accord. There is a section known as the Anza Gap about mid way on the SJ that I haven't read up much on, but has had a few big quakes in the 5 region in recent decades.

Focal mechanisms is something I've thought about adding, but have never messed with them before. Yet another database. My programming skills are being challenged with this one.

My goal is to make a program where the user can control things fluidly and in real time. All the mapping programs I've played with in the past have the user changing some parameter in a box and then waiting while the new map is drawn (seconds+). Being on the impatient side of things, I want instant gratification. I want to be able to twiddle settings with the mouse and immediately see the effect of the changed setting. I want the user to be able click on some parameter and as they slide the mouse to change it, they can 'feel' the map change visually.

I've accomplished that so far, as long as not TOO many quakes are being mapped. Since I'm still learning OpenGL, I'm not entirely sure yet that I'm doing things the best way possible. This version of the program may end up just being a learning exercise. I may end up having to restart from scratch in order to do things in a different but better way.
