As it says on my Web page, if I understand things correctly, the tilt meters are intended to largely determine what is taking place locally such as along a local fault line. Pavel does not have sensors in either North or South America to date. And the fact that his sensor system in the middle of Europe could detect anything related to that very distant Chile earthquake is pretty amazing to me.

Other sensors that I understand his group has around the Japan area would be better at detecting ground tilts in those areas.
