There was a M6.0 thrust earthquake in northern Italy. CNN reports 7 fatalities, and that they are: "The agency said it anticipates reports of more injuries as rescue workers make their way to remote villages in the mountainous area."

The problem with that reporting is that the USGS site (link, go to maps) shows quake is in middle of a very broad and flat valley.

Because it is thrust, I thought it might have to do with the Alps, but it is pretty far from the topographic front of the Alps.
