Hi Canie,

Thanks for that link. I saw one of his other notes that he posted several days later but could not locate that original ohe that he had referred to.

In my opinion, people whom I would refer to as skeptics like that should be ignored.

Several days ago I myself sent him an E-mail in response to his other post and stated that if he actually wanted to learn if earthquakes can be predicted he could try contacting me by E-mail. I told him I have several degrees in the physical sciences. And I provided a small amount of information related to the work being done by other forecasters around the world that I communicate with and also some links to my Web sites.

I have not yet heard from him. So, my guess would be that he is really not that interested in learning if earthquakes can be predicted.

Regarding psychic and faith healers,

My own studies indicate to me that some of them at least can do some of the type of healing that they claim they can such as helping cure certain forms of cancer.

But, these processes appear to me to usually involve the manipulation of electromagnetic energy fields that can have direct or more often, indirect impacts on human psychology and physiology.

One of the main reasons the healers are not taken seriously is because they keep insisting that supernatural forces are ones responsible for what they are doing. And perhaps that is the case some of the time. How could you tell? But much and probably most of what they are doing just involves electromagnet energy fields. Those fields can produce rapid changes in thought patterns. And over a long period of time they can actually produce physical changes in the body.

I sent a letter regarding that subject matter and others to the U.S. Surgeon General years ago and recommended that it be taken seriously. The savings in lives from deaths associated with certain types of cancers might be significant. But that was during an administration that was not especially interested in such matters and I am afraid that much of the information I sent them was ignored.

I have been planning to try that again with the present administration but have not yet had time.

A lot of what is going on with those healing arts is probably similar to what takes place with TCS, Trans Cranial Stimulation. It involves the manipulation of brain electromagnetic fields using powerful magnets. And it is used to deal with things such as headaches and depression. Expensive from what I have heard. And I don’t know if they are trying to use it to cure cancer. The healers are probably a lot less expensive.

These are personal opinions.
