It is surprising to me that, as far as I am aware, this type of map drawing resource has never been developed and made available to researchers around the world.

We briefly looked at the downloadable Google map drawing routines but decided for at least the present not to use them.

The general structure of the computer programs being used here is fully operational. And the project is now moving along roughly as fast as Roger can do the programming. Like everyone, he has other things that require his attention.

So far I myself have not had time to try to get other programmers involved as I am focusing on getting another earthquake related project finished. And I would not have time to oversee such an effort. Just communicating with Roger on this takes quite a bit of time and energy.

There is an earthquake forecaster who is generating forecast data that are prefect for display using this map drawing program. I contacted him about this and he told us to go ahead with full speed regarding using his data. And we plan to start doing that as soon as the Precursor display routines are adequately developed. There are no guidelines out there for how to develop this type of program. It is a "learn at you go" effort.
