Re: missing eruption of 1258

Thanks, Chris! I found it fascinating as I've studied history from that period and the effects on climate change. Eathquakes and volcanic eruptions of magnitude produce issues do not simply limit themselves to a couple of years, such as Valley Fever reoccurring post-1994 Northridge quake. People who hiked or rode horses into unpopulated areas (yes, even in SoCal) years afterward were exposed to undisturbed spores and contracted the disease.
I am wondering, and this is conjecture, what the effect would be in stirring up the atmosphere - and other particles contained there - just hanging out - when an eruption the size of the alleged 1258 one would do to stir things up or (thinking of the weight of the particles) bring things down to earth? Especially a relatively unpopulated planet as it was in 1258.
Thanks again,
Beth
