Related to my earlier post below on this thread, OK, guess John was right that the quake was in the subducting slab below the megathrust. I was surprised it was this shallow that far inland. I'd like to hear John and others comment on whether this makes it likely that the megathrust M8 to M9 quakes will rupture that far inland, or farther, and thus have stronger ground motion to land....and whether this effect would extend north to, say, Portland.
