That new Information Circulation Web page is there to provide an easily accessed location where the concept of that proposed nonprofit foundation can be developed. People can review the material and comment on it and provide helpful recommendations for important objectives for the proposed foundation.

The intention of the original EarthWaves post is to see how people posting notes here would respond to the concept of having an organization developed that would be devoted to making accurate “True Science” information available to people around the world instead of inaccurate “Popular Science” information.

The nature of the responses made to the original post can provide some information regarding how the nonprofit would need to be organized.

Would Special Interest Groups launch attacks on the nonprofit with everything they could come up with to keep accurate science information from being circulated?

Or,

Would they just ignore the nonprofit?

Anyone who believes that such an organization is not vitally necessary hasn’t been watching the news during the past few years in my opinion.

High level U.S. government officials were apparently given so much inaccurate information regarding the safety of drilling for oil in deep ocean water that when that oil well got out of control in the Gulf of Mexico, claiming about a dozen lives, and did something like 50 billion dollars worth of damage, the high level U.S. government officials sounded like they were in shock.

My interpretation of they were saying was:

"We were given absolute assurances that nothing like this could ever happen."

"What went wrong?"

Well, what went wrong in my opinion was the fact that they were getting bogus information from people who stood to make a profit from circulating that type of inaccurate information rather than from circulating truely accurate information.

And now it appears that the truth is slowly starting to leak out regarding that nuclear power plant meltdown in Japan.

The following news report is proposing that it was the original earthquake that got that Japan nuclear power plant headed in the wrong direction rather than the tsunami. If so then this would be another case were inaccurate information was being circulated.
