So, that would make the UTC offset for my own EarthWaves board posts for the recent past, 7 hours.

I don't know if that offset would apply to posts by people living in other time zones. But, that should not be difficult to determine.

That would mean my aftershock post was at 18:33:48 UTC (11:33:48 + 7 hours). And that was about an hour before the destructive Turkey earthquake that occurred at 19:23:33 UTC.

So, assuming my math is correct (usually a dangerous assumption) even if my aftershock related post did have something to do with a specific aftershock (and as I said, it did not), then it would still have been valid.
