Yes caution is always necessary in such matters.

Once when my program was running at work I got a call from a lady who was going to Hawaii at the time someone had predicted a quake for there.

She wanted to know if it was safe.

I finally told her that there was a possibility of a quake but it was no higher then as on any other day.

Later she sent me a postcard from her hotel telling me what a nice time she had.
