Hi all, I know we don't want to junk up this page with stuff like my link here, but the general problem of what people believe is an important problem to the country and to science. The disbarred psychology Ph.D. "Dr." Boylan is an extreme example. EQF linked to his site because he was forecasting a M9.6 plus a batch of M8 for the Virginia area for on and before Sept 7. I was curious what he would say when they did not occur, and what he said exceeded my expectations (in a bad way). Few people would have taken these predictions at all seriously, but for the few who might, such predictions can do harm. But the bigger problems come from "belief" related to climate change, evolution, whether we landed on the moon, or whether the Holocaust occurred. Truth and science is a slippery slope, so I'm happy to lump all of this. In case actually using the link will hurt your head, here is a clip. It gets "better":
