Last night until 11:15 PM I was at Roots Blues b BBQ in the heartland listening to Taj Mjal, Los Loos, Robert Cray (?), etc; caught airport shuttle at 4:30 AM and got to coast in R.I. mid afternoon. The tree leaves are brown from slat spray or blown off. The rocks have not moved much. The isthmus that connects the 2 parts of island was washed completely over. debris is up above the rocks in the brush. I'm waiting to see my sister's pictures; she was here. There must have been a big swell later from hurricane Katia a couple of days ago. Maria is forecast to pass a little farther offshore than Katia but as weaker storm. I'm here 8 days so will see the swell.

Southwest airlines stewardess has observance of 9/11 before landing. Then, we had a rather hard landing (we bounced). I was Chris in suburbia then. The retired fire chief across the street lost his son. We could see the smoke weeks later.
