Just noticed...sort of expanding on Chris' thread

Happy weekend all!
I noticed this morning that there were 3 recent incidences of EQ's close together on/either side of subduction zones. The first is the 6.3 (like Northridge it has been listed as a 6.7 and a 6.4) just at lunchtime on Vancouver Island yesterday, very close to the subduction fault. It was preceded by a rash of 3's, however.
Next you have a pair on opposite sides of the subduction fault (or zone, considering how riddled this area is): a 5.3 (albeit 3 days prior on the north side of the subduction fault near Puerto Rico on 9/6) followed, almost echoed by, a 5.0 just offshore Dominica, 3 days later (9/9). To my innocent (wide) eyes, it seems that adjustments are being made to subduction faults in both places. If one plate adjusts, it seems logical that another will have to in some way to accommodate the movement - am I right?
Finally, whatever happened to the Mogi Donut theory?
Been enjoying the conversations lately!
Thanks, Roger for your work.
Beth
