It should be worth noting that it was ten years ago to the day that LA experienced its largest cluster of quakes since 94 Northridge. Beginning in Sept and going through to October the basin was experiencing dozens of 1s and 2s a day that culminated in a 4.2 right under West Hollywood and another 4 under Compton. Looking at the map it looked like a teenager's face with acne with all the red squares everywhere from the SFV down to Long Beach. It was impressive and scary. It began to climax on 9/9 with the Weho quake and then 9/11 hit. I remember thinking then how crazy it was going to be if this was leading to another Northridge style quake and 9/11 happening at the same time.
