EQ reporting

Well, another appallingly bad report from CNNon the quake by a meteorologist. Chad Myers (sp?) was trying to explain why the 5.8 was felt over such a wide area and was talking about the 1 plate in Virginia and all the different plates in California. Then he started to draw all kinds of imaginary faults in the east to represent what the east would be like if it was California.
The Weather Channel did much better: they just reported the quake and did not try and explain anything.

HW was interviewed last week by a reporter type from "heartland U" because she published a high-impact paper on the east Pacific Sea Floor and explanation of gravity rolls there. He butchered it. Out of the blue it came across that because the crust was weak there could not be big quakes (implied to be on Central or South American coast). This is not true and she said no such thing.

No wonder we get people like Rick Perry who I was told second hand that he does not believe peopel affect climate and people like me are perpetuating a hoax to line or pockets. Scary stuff.

By the way, conservatives; there may be a couple of Republicans running who are not major loons. It would be nice if they were in the lead. They are not.
