There was an X class flare earlier today GMT. It looks like an X4. There were a couple of X class flares in the last couple of months, but it is possible that this is the largest in a few years. Looks like the sun did not shut off sending us into an ice age.
Also read an EOS article that the low sunspot activity the last couple of years did not reduce the power(?) (radiance?) of the sun as much as thought and therefore the Little Ice age may have been caused by something else...or something like that.
