Proposed Forecasting Research Web Site - July 18, 2011

This note discusses one of several approaches that are underway or are planned for moving the science of earthquake forecasting forward.

1. The first approach is an effort that I am making personally to develop the Etdprog.pl earthquake forecasting program. Forecast data are presently stored on my Data.html Web page.

2. The second approach involves getting world governments to become more active with developing earthquake forecasting programs. This approach got underway several months ago. But it is moving along slowly.

3. The third approach being discussed here involves locating other researchers and experienced computer programmers who would like to work on developing earthquake forecasting and research programs at some existing or new Web site.

One of those applications would be an earthquake precursor data clearinghouse Web page that might look something like the following:

http://www.freewebs.com/eq-forecasting/124.html

A second application would involve the development of an increasingly complex and sophisticated computer program that would show us exactly how earthquakes are being triggered. I have already developed such a program based on some important earthquake triggering discoveries. And that program could serve as a good starting point for the more sophisticated program.

If anyone is interested in such a Web site development project they can try posting a note here in response to this one or try contacting me through the E-mail address at my Web site.

In their E-mail note they should state that they are interested in my keeping their E-mail address on file so that they can be contacted if this effort does actually get started. Or they should state that their E-mail address should not be added to the contact list.

No such contact list exists at the moment. If one does get started then the present plan is not to share it with anyone. Group E-mails might be sent to people using the anonymous BCC option.
