Hello from Scotland, and Hutton's grave |
Hi all, I'm in Edinburgh Scotland at the every 4 years International Antartic Earth Science meeting. I had a real problem staying awake on talks (jet lag, but something else also). I did take a nap every day except yesterday. Today was workshops that I skipped. I walked into downtown Edinburgh and was too cheap to pay 15 pounds to see the castle. A churchyard with graves was free. The grave of James Hutton, 18th century geologist who got it right, was there. The problem was that I could not find it. They had all kind of monuments to some little dog, but nothing to point out Hutton.
