France Earthquake

Hi All. The prediction or forecast as I prefer to call them was pure speculation. I felt the dates I used, 8th, 9th and 10th covered the time frame for the speculation.

From my point of view this is a miss. I didn't get the location or the magnitude however I did get the time frame. Based on the data I have which is mainly the past quake history of the area, and the most recent activity in nearby areas I chose those locations.

I have no idea as to what type of data, or even if any is used in Great Britain. I don't know if any of the faults have creep, strain date, etc. If they have any Roger, do you think it would be possible for me have access to it.

Please keep in mind that I'm still learning how to walk. That has to done before I can run. The more input in the way of data I can get the better the odds that one day someone much smarter then I will put it together.

I use a tight time frame and location simply because if it is to be acted upon it can be done much easier when a specific time and location is given. If I was looking for a reputation of being able to forecast quakes I could give them in a manner that you could sail an aircraft carrier through it with room to spare. That however is not my goal. For any forecast to be useful it has to be accurate and in some case's very accurate when a major quake is being forecasted. You don't want to evacuate a 50 square mile area (if evacuation is considered at all) to another area 100 miles away and then have the quake center where you evacuated the people. The time frame has to be narrow also because of the economic hardships that can be placed on some people and companies. Just my thoughts. Take Care…Don in creepy town.
