Kind of an interesting map showing the polygons of 3 days of tornado warnings for the southeast.

To Bob, I learned from Greg Forbes and the other specialist on severe weather on the weather channel that a strong jet stream digging south has a lot to do with these outbreaks. I know that cyclic things like El Nano/La Nina can affect position of jet stream. There are longer term (20 or 30 years?) cycles in Atlantic hurricanes. I have never heard of cycles in tornadoes but would not surprise me if it was the case.
