EGAD...if I could tell you the number of flat earth/hollow earth/crystal vibe people up here!! I don't debate them. "Oh, how interesting" is my usual comment. I am spending time working at the local museum on their minerals--and it is absolutely amazing at the variety of deposits we have around here. Volcanics, ophiolites, you name it...we've probably got it around here. AS for the (ahem)beer--oh yeah, nothing tasted better than cold beer at the end of a very long hot day. You had to hide it though or your stash would be gone. Some of the more experienced folks hid their vodka in "dog water" bottles...or simply stashed their scotch in their dirty laundry!! How I miss it.
