In this case I am merely commenting on data provided to us and posted to this
board. Ground motion due to passing seismic waves from the Kermadec Is.
earthquake may be triggering small events where they are ready to occur
anyway, perhaps causing them to occur several days earlier than they would
otherwise happen.
It is also possible that something which occurred (such as the geomagnetic
storm early on June 2) might have energized both areas.
Just speculation.
