Hi All,

Though the volcano is not visible at this time, the following update tells us what's happening. If you will notice the eruptions are occurring at two week intervals.

JUNE 4 10:55 h (15:55 h GMT):

In the last 24 hours the Popocatepetl activity has remained in a steady level. 10 small exhalations were observed, accompanied by some steam and gas emissions. Also, low-amplitude harmonic tremor was observed, accumulating about 2 hours.
Yesterday at 20:51 there was a tectonic microearthquake of magnitude 1.8, located 5 km below the crater.
At the moment of this report, we have no visibility towards the volcano due to dense clouds.

It is possible that explosive activity as that occurred on April 16 and 29, and on May 13 and 31, will continue in the next days or weeks.

The traffic light of volcanic alert is maintained yellow-3. It is recommended not to approach the volcano to less than 12 km from the crater.
