Winchester. I'm sure he was sincere, but that does not excuse forecasting earthquakes for the San Andreas or Cascadia without a factual basis as though he understood fault mechanics. Nor does it excuse CNN for treating him as though he were a seismologist.

I suppose one could simply view CNN as entertainment, with no obligation to be accurate. I hope policy decisions are not based on his opinions.
